His surrealism is intriguing and disturbing (in a good way). Švankmajer has influenced people including David Lynch, Terrence Gilliam and the Brothers Quay, and has a large worldwide cult following.

It's difficult for me to describe myself to you. Utterly difficult. There’s so many things that can be said and not one of them would be any good coming from my own words. Here, I will show you the incites of what goes on behind my eyes and right in front of them, perhaps if we're lucky one of us might find something out using this, or at least get something good from it in some way. However, I wish I could call myself an artist, an ingeniously cunning person, or just something good to look at, but that is not the case, so if you'd be so kind, do take the time and see what I dream in my time when I should be awake.
